“A special shout out to my producers and film crew,” she wrote Monday. “It wasn’t an easy season for any of us. Without all of you, I’m not sure how I would have gotten through some of the hard times. You guys are like family to me! I’m not gonna tag anyone for their privacy but I know you guys will see it. I appreciate each of you and your support and compassion through a super hard time in my life. Thank you.”
Ashley didn’t give a specific reason why she was quitting the show, though the obvious answer seems to be that she and her partner are no longer together. While participating on the series, Ashley grew her social media following to more than 263,000 followers and has landed paid advertisement deals. With Jay no longer in the picture, Ashley isn’t interested in sharing her journey anymore.
The day before she quit, Ashley followed Part 2 of the tell-all with her fans. “That’s a wrap! Thanks for tuning into my story,” she wrote on Sunday. “I appreciate all the love and support! God bless you all!”
Ashley filed for divorce from Jay in April after she caught him cheating for a second time. She took him back the first time because Jay took care of her while she was hospitalized for complications related to lupus in January. She later said it was the medicine that made her forgive him and issued a “disclaimer” to her fans as a warning.
“Disclaimer for tomorrow’s episode—I was admitted and administered IV Dilaudid for eight days straight. It clearly affected the frontal lobe of my brain,” the Pennsylvania resident, 32, wrote on Instagram July 14. “The part of the brain that you think and make choices with…that’s all! Have a great rest of your weekend.” She added a GIF that read, “dumb juice.”
Despite the infidelity, Ashley revealed she loves Jay very much and the decision to split wasn’t easy for her. “Honestly, I’m dying inside, just so you all know. Like, I’ve sat in my bed for two weeks straight, trying to take care of my kids, I lost 23 pounds… I’m hurt,” she said during the tell-all. “We’re getting a divorce and it hurts because I love him. I still love him.”
Jay has refused to sign divorce papers and is in danger of being deported. A friend of Jay’s started a GoFundMe account on July 4 so he could afford a proper lawyer. The page has since raised more than $4,200, almost clearing its goal of $5,000.
