Dreams is one of three new features that arrived in version 1.4, along with island back ups and fireworks. New Horizons players will no doubt want to learn everything there is to know about Dreams and how to visit and let others visit their island.
To enter Dreams, players simply have to head into their home and lie in any bed in the house. Once you’ve chosen to sleep, you’ll be transported to the dreamscape, where you’ll meet Luna, who will explain the details.
HOW TO ENTER OTHER DREAMS
After an explainer from Luna, players will have a few options in Dreams. The first is “I want to dream.”
Players will need a strong internet connection to go into dreams, but this option will allow players to enter other islands as long as they have a Dream Address. A Dream Address is an identity unique to each dream. You’ll need to input this Dream Address when you’re ready to go into someone else’s dream.
After inputting the Dream Address, players will enter a dream empty-handed. Your items will be returned to you when you are finished in a dream.
You can do whatever you want and it won’t affect the person’s island; however, you won’t be able to take any items you pick, like fruit or weeds, back to your island. You can interact with other players and the island’s residents.
SHARING DREAMS
If you want others to share your dream you can allow that as well. However, be aware that players—including ones you don’t know—will be able to visit a version of your island as long as they have your Island Address. This means that player-generated data about your island and its residents captured at the time the dream is shared will be made public.
So, your data—including your avatar name, passport info, look of your entire island, rooms, custom designs, bulletin board posts and more—will be seen by anyone.
Tell Luna you’re ready to upload your dream and she will connect to the internet and generate your special Dream Address, which you can share with others.
You can find your Dream Address on your passport and on your island’s map if you need to find it again. You can also not have your Dream Address displayed by telling Luna to change your privacy settings.
Any changes made to your island after uploading the dream won’t be reflected in it. Instead, you will have to re-upload your dream to have it reflect any changes you make to your island. Note that you can only upload your dream once per day.
