Crypto Abilities in Apex Legends Season 3

Starting with Crypto, his abilities include a Tactical Aerial Drone that can travel up to 200 meters away from the character. Not only is the Drone able to target enemies, but it can also hack doors, loot containers and Banners from a distance. If a threat is up to 30 meters away, the Drone can detect enemy positions at all times. His ultimate is an EMP blast that comes from the drone. With it, players have the ability to deal shield damage, stall the progress of enemies and disable placed traps.

Leveraging these tools of the trade, Crypto intends to find his daughter. Algorithms grant him the ability to win every match, but is he strong enough to win the fight for his family? Watch the animated trailer above to find out.

Charge Rifle & Ranked

As far as the new Charge Rifle is concerned, there isn’t much we know about its use in Apex Legends. The gun was, however, featured in both Titanfall games as a heavy weapon designed to take down enemy Titans. While there aren’t any Titans in Apex Legends yet, might this be a sign that we’ll see mechs soon? If not, maybe there’s another powerful threat on the horizon.

In Ranked play, much about its basic concepts remain similar to what skilled competitors experienced during Season 2. Some key tweaks include starting with leaver penalties disabled, the addition of a global Apex Predator leaderboard and assists factoring into individual scores. The heart of high-level play won’t change, but these refinements intend to make the experience better than it was before.

With these Season 3 reveals in mind, there’s still quite a bit we don’t know about the future of Apex Legends. This may be enough to whet the appetites of fans, but further details regarding Crypto and the Charge Rifle are sure to come. There’s also the matter of leaks detailing possible PvE modes and night map options as well. Will any of these concepts make their way into the next Battle Pass? There are still a few more weeks left to find out.

Apex Legends is available now on PS4, Xbox One and PC. Season 3 begins October 1.
