Apex Legends Update 1.44 Patch Notes
Addresses the following:
Rampart Amped Wall client error in softened gore localesFix a server error causing immediate disconnects when Rampart puts down a wallFix an error caused in some instances where a player is on Rampart’s turret when it is destroyedIssue around specific Bloodhound skin getting a stretched neck while using Rampart turret. We are still working on this issue for Lifeline’s Guardian Angel skinRampart’s “Boom” finisher line from playing across the mapKill stat tracking for R-99 not displaying properly
Additionally, we are publishing a playlist update later today to do the following:
Reduce Devotion damage [17 -> 16] , and increases recoil - these are quick changes we can make now, more adjustments to Devotion that take more time to do will come later. Reduce number of Devotions and Turbochargers spawnedReduced number of gold helms, gold backpacks and gold incap shields
In essence, then, this small update is mostly just a bug fix patch that made its way to other platforms earlier in the week but just went live on PS4 over the past few hours. Many of these issues, including crashes and disconnects with Rampart’s turret and Amped Cover, were discovered shortly after the Season 6 update went live Tuesday morning. Luckily those bugs are now officially squashed so players can enjoy the game as its developers intend.
As far as balance and gameplay are concerned, the only real change listed here is for the Devotion, which was recently brought out of Supply Drops and into standard floor loot. With the new changes the LMG will be slightly less powerful than it was before, but the reduction sounds so slight that we can’t imagine it feeling that different compared to where it was before. Many fans had said the weapon was too powerful, but cutting things down by just one point doesn’t seem like it will do very much. Today’s Apex Legends update is largely inconsequential, but it fixes some critical problems plaguing Season 6 over the past few days.
Apex Legends is available now on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
