Creator and star of the series Glover will return as Earn, who left for Europe at the end of Season 2 with Brian Tyree Henry’s Paper Boi and LaKeith Stanfield’s Darius. The latest trailer for the new episodes coming to FX dropped over the weekend and also shows Zazie Beetz’s character Van also joins the team during their European adventure.
It has been confirmed that Season 3, which begins on FX on Thursday, March 24, will be the penultimate season of Atlanta. But there’ll be a short wait to see the conclusion with Season 4 coming soon.
Taking the show out of the confines of Atlanta, Georgia essentially for the first time, here are all of the filming locations known for Season 3 so far.
Atlanta Season 3 Filming Locations
In the Season 2 finale, Paper Boi, Earn and Darius were sitting in the plane, waiting to jet off to Europe for their first international tour. From the early previews, it seems like the majority of the story for Season 3 takes place in European cities. Glover and his cast mates also shared behind the scenes images on social media which showed the cast hanging out in these locations.
It seems a lot of the action will take place in London, with various boroughs and non-touristy areas of the English capital featured in the Atlanta Season 3 trailer. A brief moment in the trailer features British actor Chaneil Kular who plays Anwar in the Netflix show Sex Education.
We also know from trailer footage and behind-the-scenes pictures that parts of Season 3 will take place in Paris and Amsterdam. One moment from the trailer shows the Dutch Santa-like figure Sinterklaas walking through Amsterdam with a bicycle.
Atlanta Season 3 Episodes
Atlanta was forced to take an extended break because production was massively interrupted by the pandemic but filming for the new episodes began again in April 2021. Now, four years after Season 2 aired, Atlanta is finally back for Season 3 with ten new episodes lined up to air on FX and Hulu.
Season 3 of Atlanta launches on March 24 with two new episodes airing. They are titled “Three Slaps” and “Sinterklaas is Coming to Town.”
After the first two episodes drop, the following episodes will air one at a time for the rest of the season, every Thursday night on FX. If the episodes continue to air one at a time weekly, the season finale will drop on Thursday, May 19.
Atlanta Season 4
Production for Season 4 of Atlanta began not long after Season 3 was completed, and fans are facing a much shorter wait to see the next installment.
Season 4, which has been confirmed as the final season of Atlanta, will reportedly drop in the fall of 2022.
Before that though, Atlanta Season 3 begins on FX on Thursday, March 24.
