Jones claimed Peth is “creepy” and “manipulative” to women during the televised wedding of Krystal Nielson and Chris Randone. His claim came after Peth began to get close to Taysia Adams, who Jones has been interested in throughout the season.

In the last week of Paradise, Jones went on two dates with women other than Adams. While he tangled himself in a love triangle, Adams began pursuing Peth. It appeared when Jones saw the two flirting, he realized how strong his feelings for her were.

Though Jones had some unkind words about Peth, he’s been a Paradise favorite since the season started, but especially since his relationship with Demi Burnett fell through. Burnett was in a casual relationship with Peth when her pre-show girlfriend arrived. Burnett immediately chose to couple with the new visitor, Kristian Haggerty, which left Peth single and devastated.

Fans applauded Peth for not revealing Burnett’s sexuality after she confided in him, and for declining to comment to other Paradise visitors when they asked why the relationship was falling through. Ultimately, Burnett explained her side and introduced Haggerty on her own terms.

But Peth’s position as a supportive and kind friend could be a facade, according to Jones. “Derek is that creepy guy that graduated high school five years ago and comes back to the high school parties despite the fact that he’s a grown-ass man,” he said. “I will not allow Derek to swoop in and steal Tayshia away.”

Jones took the remarks even further. “Tayshia is a victim to Derek’s fraud. She deserves much more than that,” Jones ranted. “When someone I care about is being manipulated or pursued by the wrong person, it makes me very angry.”

Even accusations of Peth taking advantage of women arose. “He has expressed to me, multiple times, his reaching out to his fans, taking advantage of them sexually, as a result of acquiring fame through this process,” Jones said, implying a shady relationship between Peth and his social media following. “He’s mentioned multiple times that you can ‘f—’ some of the women that follow you.”

Jones later confronted Peth on the show, to which Peth denied all accusations. Peth did not comment further on social media during the episode’s air time.
