Considering update 1.21 releases just two weeks after the previous major patch, it’s no surprise this one doesn’t feature much. The fixes listed in the above patch notes are absolutely necessary to maintain an active player base, especially considering it will be quite some time before the next major Defying the Odds update is expected to release.

Speaking of which, in conjunction with the latest update notes, DICE also provided a basic preview of what players can expect to see in a future update at the end of August. That one will weigh more heavily in terms of features and includes two new maps, an increased level cap and several new weapons. It will, however, be about a month before that content becomes available. Today’s update for Battlefield 5 certainly isn’t a game changer, but future updates might be.

Battlefield 5 is available now on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. The update is deploying on all platforms.
