The housemates have been on the long-running reality show together since it returned to screens in August for Season 24, but had been just friends up until September 13.
The duo, unbeknownst to their co-stars Alyssa Snider, Brittany Hoopes and Matthew “Turner” Turner, shared a kiss in footage shown on the Big Brother live feed, available via Paramount +.
While some fans are happy for the pair, others are concerned that it may affect their game plans to win the show.
Viewers are particularly worried for Taylor as the personal stylist has overcome many obstacles in the house during her time on the show.
After initially being picked on by her fellow housemates, she has seemed a lot happier in recent weeks and has been garnering strength in the competition.
Following the kissing footage being shown on the Big Brother live feed, one user posted the footage on Twitter along with the caption: “This not a drill!!! Monte & Taylor are kidding!!! Omg! #BB24.”
Reacting to the shock turn of events, fans replied to the video to share their apprehension about the romance.
Social media users seemed anxious that Taylor’s game plan, which involved her securing alliances with Brittany and Turner, as well as Monte, could now be in jeopardy.
“I have a bad feel about this week for Taylor and I’m so mad because the circumstances around it are so f***ed up lol #bb24,” one posted, while another bemoaned: “Taylor just casually throwing her game away for Monte is the saddest thing to watch. This Kyle 2.0 with Alyssa. #bb24.”
The second Twitter user is referencing the previous romance between Alyssa and now-evicted Kyle Capener, which ended when she called time on their dalliance following his racism scandal.
Suggesting what Taylor needs to do to ensure her game plan is still solid, another viewer tweeted: “Today is such an important day. Taylor needs to glue herself to Monte and Turner and have only ONE good reassuring convo with Britt. Then do the same tomorrow. #bb24.”
Another Big Brother watcher suggested that Monte, who is Head of Household at time of writing, could also be looking to get Taylor in a “vulnerable” spot in the competition.
“Brittany and Monte are not that different when it comes to Taylor. They want her vulnerable and dependent of them. Which is why Brittany is upset right now and why Monte is happy and okay with the current situation with Taylor OTB. #bb24,” they added.
Before Monte, Taylor had admitted to having a crush on Joseph Abdin, who has since been evicted.
Nothing romantic happened between them in the house but, following his exit, Joseph has stated he may be interested in pursuing a relationship with Taylor when Big Brother is over.
