Paramount+ has released the new trailer for Blue’s Big City Adventure which features an animated Blue the dog running amuck across the real-life New York City. Some of Blue’s oldest friends join in the fun in the trailer, which has drawn parallels to Spider-Man’s latest movie which reunited old and new Peter Parkers from different universes.
After the trailer for Blue’s Big City Adventure dropped online, social media users quickly got both Blue’s Clues and Spider-Man trending.
“Blue’s Clues: No Way Home” wrote journalist Philip Lewis, retweeting the trailer. Writer Rafael Motamayor agreed, calling this his No Way Home while film critic Mike McGranaghan called it No Way Home for “the five and under-set.”
Many others drew the same comparisons, and from the looks of the storyline and cast list involved in Blue’s Big City Adventure, they’re not wrong.
First of all, Blue and his friend Josh arrive in New York City, which happens to be the home of Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man too.
As the trailer progresses, it turns out Josh has lost his “Handy Dandy Notebook,” and without it, it turns out there’s no way home for him and Blue. In order to help them, animated characters travel from their world to New York City.
The colorful characters go to see an old friend, which turns out to be Steve, the original human friend for Blue’s Clues. Steve Burns got people on the internet all choked up in recent years when he posted a video online to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Blue’s Clues. Blue’s old friend Jon, played by Donovan Patton, also appears in the movie.
With all the evidence considered, Decider Managing Editor Alex Zalben couldn’t believe they didn’t name the movie Blue’s Clues: No Way Home either.
The buzz around Blue’s Big City Adventure has been building for months, with the likes of @RiseFallNickBck getting tens of thousands of likes on Twitter for sharing screenshots of the live-action trio standing with Blue the animated dog.
The official storyline for Blue’s Big City Adventure, as described by Paramount+, states that Blue and Josh will audition for a Broadway musical with help from Joe and Steve.
It’s not the first time Blue has crossed mediums, as Blue has also been the star of a number of video games, as well as special TV episodes too.
Blue’s Big City Adventure will be available to watch on November 18, 2022 on Paramount+.
