Borderlands 3 Mongol Location - Thunk and Sloth
In Borderlands 3, the Mongol can be found exclusively from the rare spawn, Thunk and Sloth. You can find this dastardly pair here on the map, at Konrad’s Hold on Pandora. Just enter the main building, and you’ll have no problem finding them.
Thunk is a tank enemy dressed as a pirate. When you encounter him, he’s pretty hard to miss. With some heavy firepower, this duo should be pretty easy to take down, though. And, because the Mongol is a new addition to the game, the gun is dropping quite frequently. As long as you keep farming the spawn point shown above, you should have no problem getting a Mongol in fairly short order.

While obtaining a Mongol in Borderlands 3 is pretty easy once you know where to look, it’s debatable whether or not you really need one at this exact moment in time. The Mongol is a pretty decent launcher when used against mobs and bosses alike, but it’s nothing compared to Plaguebearer at the moment.
For those who don’t know how the Mongol works, it’s best fired from a distance, and it features a firing mode where one central rocket is followed by several small ones. The scattershot nature of the gun makes it a bit less accurate than other launchers, but it does cover a wide area as a result. Overall it’s decent, and it could be even better depending on your character or class. Certain configurations of Zane or Fl4k could really make this weapon shine.
However, given that weapon balance changes are in the works for the very near future, it seems likely this gun could get a buff to stay competitive. It’s not too difficult to add the Mongol to your collection, but keep your expectations in check until those balance tweaks are live.
