Call of Duty Mobile update 2.0 is clearly worthy of its namesake, as the single biggest patch the game has enjoyed since launching in September. Its most prevalent features, of course, are controller support and Zombies. Starting on the peripheral side, controller support has been a must discussed addition to CoD Mobile since going live. Similar features were available in public betas in the days leading up to launch but were unexpectedly cut from the app’s release build. Considering the current iteration is more or less the same as what existed before, we imagine the delay had something to do with concerns over lobby population and split queues. Now that server numbers have stabilized, it seems Activision is ready to offer the controller faithful a more familiar version of the game. As for Zombies, the mobile variation sounds a lot more focused on the horde and less on Easter eggs. The basic concept still sounds like it’s there, but fans probably shouldn’t expect a full Treyarch-level experience on the go.

However, as these patch notes indicate, these two highlights are just the tip of the iceberg with this massive update. With a brand-new multiplayer map, new weapons and additional points of interest in Battle Royale, there’s almost no area of this game that hasn’t been improved. In other words, if you’ve been hesitant to see what Call of Duty Mobile is all about, now’s the perfect time to give it a try.

Call of Duty Mobile is available now on Android and iOS.
