How to Play the Modern Warfare 2V2 Gunfight Tournament
Just like last time, the Modern Warfare Gunfight Tournament mode features 16 teams of two players each in traditional bracket-style play. For those who need it, we’ve included a picture of a sample bracket below. There is no loser’s bracket, so just keep winning through the Preliminaries, Quarter Finals, Semi Finals and Finals. Join up like you would any other match, and wait about five minutes in matchmaking for the tournament to begin.
The standard rules of 2V2 Gunfight remain. Your Duo most capture the opposing Duo’s flag or eliminate them to advance to the next round. Our best tip is to work your way to the flag as quickly as possible, as most inexperienced players will likely aim for the kill condition without playing the objective. As such, it’s often easier for your Duo to circumvent the confrontation entirely.
Modern Warfare 2V2 Gunfight Tournament Rewards - February 2020
While the execution of the tournament hasn’t changed much, the rewards are different from last time. With that in mind, here’s a quick look at everything you’ll get for finishing each stage of the four-stage bracket.
Preliminaries: “Cover Me” Calling Card and 500 XP
Quarter Finals: Bloodiest Diamond Charm and 1,000 XP
Semi Finals: Death Awaits Calling Card and 2,000 XP
Finals: Riptide MP7 variant blueprint and 5,000 XP
None of these rewards are particularly flashy considering the level of competition you’re likely to face in the higher rounds of the bracket, but there is an absolute ton of XP on offer for those hoping to level up fast or increase their Prestige status. While Riptide has only been out for a few hours, initial impressions indicate most players are better off passing on it unless they’re exceptionally skilled at the Gunfight mode. That’s all we know about the Modern Warfare Gunfight tournament for February, but we’ll do our best to keep you posted on other tournaments as they happen.
