What time does Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 3 start?

To prevent network congestion during the pandemic, the presumed version 1.19 patch is expected to go live around 2 a.m. EDT on April 8 across Warzone and Modern Warfare alike. It will not deploy at 1 p.m. like previous seasons. Given a 30-minute time window, the content should be live on all platforms by 2:30 a.m. EDT.

What to expect from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 3

Activision has been exceptionally mum with regard to the contents of Modern Warfare Season 3, but leaks spread across various subreddits offer a decent roundup of what players are likely to see in the initial Season 3 update and the ones to come after. Here’s what we know so far.

New Operator - Alex: Making his way from the Modern Warfare campaign to multiplayer, Alex is the latest Operator skin to be featured in the next Battle Pass. Promotional images suggest Ronin may be part of the fun too, but that’s not completely confirmed. New Weapons - SKS Sniper Rifle & Renetti Pistol: While there may be more weapons to come, these two guns are the most heavily featured in datamines. Here’s what in-game descriptions say about them. SKS: This is a lightweight semi-automatic Carbine chambered in 7. 62x39mm. This hard-hitting and agile Soviet rifle focuses on utility over accuracy. It flaunts a faster fire rate than other weapons in its class, but a carefully placed round will eliminate the need for follow up shots entirely. This classic DMR has seen a lot of battles, and its unique gunsmith configurations reflect a diverse service history. Renetti: This is a well rounded semi-auto 9mm pistol. This unassuming sidearm excels in close range combat and features gunsmithing capabilities unique to the pistol class that permit a variety of engagement strategies. New Maps - Backlot, Hovec Sawmill & Aniyah Incursion: Promotional images suggest Backlot from Call of Duty 4 will soon be making its way to Modern Warfare. The Sawmill is a totally new map. Datamines reference around a dozen more unfinished maps, so these three may not be the only ones due in Season 3. New Warzone Queues: Warzone fans have been begging for new queue types like Squads and Duos, and the former has been confirmed for Season 3. There are also data strings for Snipers modes across Plunder and Battle Royale alike. While we’re not quite sure which new playlists will make an appearance throughout Season 3, players bored with the same old Warzone are likely to see some changes. Creator Codes: If you’re a content creator, it looks like Activision will also soon unveil a Creator Code-like system to offer a small cut from microtransaction purchases.

As with any leak it’s possible that some or all of these discoveries may not truly make their way to the game, but it seems likely this list encapsulates some version of what fans will be able to enjoy over the next few hours.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available now on PS4, Xbox One and PC. Season 3 is expected to go live April 8 at 1 p.m. EDT.
