Starting with the most recent reveal, the December 2020 update brings the Super Wizard Super Troop to the game. It takes on the level of your Wizards, so this is what its stats look like at level 10 in the developer build.

DPS: 240HP: 500Training Cost: 11,500 ElixirTraining Time: 1 min. 15 secs. Favorite Target: AnyDamage Type: Single TargetTargets: Ground and AirHousing Space: 10Movement Speed: 20Ability: Chain Magic - Bouncing fireball hits nearby targets.

As far as execution is concerned, it appears the Super Wizard is most effective against buildings that are very close to one another. Given enough separation, it actually becomes difficult for the fire to reach its estimated target. It can certainly lay waste to buildings with a tight arrangement, but it won’t be that effective anywhere else.

Revealed Friday morning, the Log Launcher is a brand-new Siege Machine with very unique properties. Its main goal is to take down walls, and it’s insanely good at doing so.

Favorite Target: Walls (damage x4)Damage: Area SplashTargets: GroundHousing Space: OneMovement Speed: Five

The purpose of the Log Launcher is to send massive logs towards Town Halls while dealing splash damage to all nearby enemies. But, while it does manage to shred through those defenses, it does so with one huge drawback: its health slowly drains over time. In total, the Log Launcher can only be active for a maximum of about 30 seconds at a time before collapsing. Of course it will go down even faster if there are troops attacking it. In short, the purpose of the Log Launcher seems to be a means of creating a fast path for more powerful troops to break through to cause long-term damage.

These two major additions arrive alongside an Invisibility spell.

Effect Type: Area SplashHousing Space: oneBrewing Time: three minutes. Targets: Ground and Air

As expected, this Town Hall 11 Spell turns everything in its range invisible. While this means troops can’t be targeted, it comes with the tradeoff of providing the exact same benefit to enemy defenses as well. With that in mind, making most use of the Invisibility Spell requires triggering it at the exact right moment. Use it carelessly, and you just mind wind up giving your opponents an unnecessary edge.

These changes and more are due to arrive in the Clash of Clans December update expected to debut in the coming days. Beyond these major meta adjustments, the patch also adds new levels for the Spell Factory, X-Bow, Giant Bomb, Air Bomb and more. The Scattershot has received a nice buff as well. While in past years Supercell has simply added holiday-themed obstacles to the game in December, Clashmas 2020 looks to be one of the biggest celebrations fans have seen in quite some time. These additions aren’t just temporary, and they seem to change the game in pretty substantial ways.

Clash of Clans is available now on Android and iOS.
