The videos, which have since gone viral on TikTok, show the 18-year-old attempting to deal with the uncomfortable situation in a hotel courtyard while the stranger talks to her from off-camera. The two-part series has clearly resonated with viewers, amassing over 14 million views combined since they were posted at the end of April.

In the two clips, the TikToker, known on the app as @maassassin_, is seen talking to a man off-camera. He seems to ask if he can take the extra chair at her table, but it soon becomes clear that he is actually asking to join her. The teenage TikToker is visibly uncomfortable: “Oh, I didn’t mean you can sit there,” she says.

Despite her clear hesitation, he proceeds to sit at her table. He asks her how she’s doing and her name, to which she replies with a fake name, “Alyssa.” He appears to identify himself as “Tad.”

“I see your hesitancy,” he says. He adds that he “couldn’t help but notice” she was sitting on her own, prompting him to approach her.

“I’m currently on a Live, talking to some people,” she says, while the on-screen text provides context: “I thought that maybe if I told him people were watching he’d leave.”

Finally, seeing how uncomfortable she is, the man leaves.

In a follow-up video posted the next day, @maassassin_ further explains the harassment. She notes that while she is 18-years-old, the man who approached her appeared to be in his mid-late twenties or thirties. “I was uncomfortable the entire time,” she says.

In another update, she says that she told the hotel’s front desk staff about the situation. “The lady there does know who he is, so she told me that she’s going to…have a talk with him and…tell him to leave people alone.”

“Of course that won’t do much,” she adds.

While the comments on @maassassin_’s posts have been turned off, viewers are taking to Twitter to share their reactions to the video.

“The level of discomfort this poor girl is feeling makes me sad. The other day my 15-year-old daughter said ‘I wish I could walk home without men calling stuff out the window to me. I just want to walk to my friends’ house and not be creeped out,’” wrote one Twitter user.

“Oh my gosh, my heart is racing after watching that. And she’s so damn polite to him,” added another.

“What woman has never felt like this girl? My stomach hurt with hers,” reads one empathetic comment.

The TikToker seems grateful for the massive online response she’s received since posting the saga. “I don’t have the words to explain how thankful I am for you guys,” she says in a later video. “For following me, and sending me gifts on the Lives, and being genuinely concerned about my wellbeing.”
