Started in September 2013, the project dismantled the track’s backstretch grandstands and created a 101,000-seat stadium-style complex on the frontstretch to allow all seated fans to view pre-race ceremonies and pit-road action in addition to the race.

The speedway also doubled the number of restrooms and tripled the number of concession stands as part of the renovation project. “Daytona Rising” will also include new entrances, elevators and escalators and social areas, as well as technology upgrades throughout the venue.

The completion of the project comes just before Daytona hosts the Rolex 24 this week and the beginning of NASCAR’s Sprint Cup season in February with the prestigious Daytona 500.

The project’s entirety can now been seen in a two-minute time-lapse video released by the speedway.
