Lamorne Morris - Sean
In early scenes of Desperados, Wesley goes on a blind date with Sean, played by New Girl and Game Night star Lamorne Morris. Fans of the former may remember that Morris’ character Winston ended up with Pedrad’s Aly at the end of the comedy, but let’s say that things do not go so well for them in this movie.
In a video interview with Manny the Movie Guy, Pedrad said of reuniting with her former co-star: “When I found out that Lamorne might be able to do it, it was such a no-brainer. There is truly no one better to work with. I have so much fun with him and I would do anything with him.”
Anna Camp - Brooke
In the dubious tradition of romcoms like The Sweetest Thing and Netflix’s recent Someone Great, Wesley is joined on her road trip by two female friends, who come to Mexico with her to try and delete an insulting email she sent her new boyfriend. The first of these is tough Brooke, portrayed by Pitch Perfect and The Good Wife’s Anna Camp.
Sarah Burns - Kaylie
The second friend, meanwhile, is Kaylie, the friendlier of the two companions. She is played by Sarah Burns of American Vandal, Barry, and Big Little Lies.
Robbie Amell - Jared
Heather Graham - Angel de la Paz
In one of the movie’s subplots, Brooke and Kaylie head to a wellness retreat run by a very Gwyneth Paltrow-esque guru played not by the Goop founder but another blonde actor from the ’90s, Heather Graham. Best known as Felicity Shagwell from the second Austin Powers movie and Rollergirl in Boogie Nights, more recently she had starred in Angie Tribeca, Law & Order: True Crime and Californication.
