Where is Destiny 2’s September 17 Ascendant Challenge Located?
The Ascendant Challenge for September 17 is located in the Aphelion’s Rest Lost Sector marked on the map below. Go to Petra’s spawn at the Strand.
This week’s Portal shouldn’t be too hard to find. Just pop your Tincture of Queensfoil (purchased at Huggin’s or earned in-game around the Dreaming City) and head to the back of the Lost Sector.
Completing the September 17 Ascendant Challenge
In the Ouroborea challenge area are four Blights. Teams must kill them to “break the seal” of the crystals in the center. You’ll likely find two Blights close to the entrance and another pair hovering in the corners of the arena. Above all, use a high-power Exotic to maximize damage output. You’ll also see Knights as well, but just avoid their slam attacks to keep the challenge going.
After killing the Blights, an on-screen prompt appears that says “the opportunity.” When that happens, grab a Shotgun and shoot at the crystals in the center of the room. At this stage your main goal is to stay mobile to avoid the Knights. To prevent yourself from getting hit, rotate on the outside of the circle and slowly work your way inward. Eventually you’ll do enough damage to earn your reward.
Lore and Toland Locations for September 17
Once you’ve finished the challenge you can start looking for Toland and additional lore locations around the arena. As always, use the Wish-Ender bow to collect the eggs.
Egg 1: From the big Awoken statue, go to the left and you’ll reach a large circular platform with two broken staircases attached to it. You’ll see a staircase headed downward, next to another one that’s facing up. Hop on the upward one and you’ll see a glowing egg in the distance to the left.
Egg 2: From the back right-hand side of the arena, you’ll see this strange tree in a sandy area. In the distance behind it is a glowing egg.
Egg 3: To the left of that tree is a straightaway path that eventually curves. Along the curve, you’ll see a gazebo. Hop to it and make your way to a large, circular platform. You’ll see these large columns with the egg inside.
Ahamkara Bone: Go back to the two staircases where you found Egg 1. Go up the upward staircase and into the area with columns. Hop atop this column to reach a crawlspace to the roof.
Make your way through and hop onto these pillars.
You’ll see a statue with a glittering bone on top. You don’t need the Wish-Ender to pick it up. That’s all you need to know to figure out this week’s Ascendant Challenge.
