The Basics of Corridors of Time & How to Start

To get the Corridors of Time quest, all you have to do is visit Osiris in the Sundial Spire to pick up the mission. From there, you’ll be able to launch the task and enter the series of 19 codes listed below. To initially find the codes, Guardians visited the new Planetary Obelisks every hour and scoured through press screenshots to find even more. When visiting an Obelisk, this is what a code looks like.

In order to decipher said code, simply work your way clockwise from the two-o-clock position on the dial. In this example, then, the code reads as follows: Diamond, Plus, Snake, Hexagon, Hexagon, Diamond, Plus.

To input the code, simply run through the rooms in the designated order. You’ll see each of the symbols outside each room. You don’t need to kill the enemies therein, but it may make things less hectic to do so.

Once you reach the end of each code, you’ll come to a vault room that looks like this. When you get here, stand on the edge and hit the designated button to interact with it. Don’t approach the grave unless you’ve made a mistake. If you’ve done it right, you’ll get a Saint-14 lore piece. Lore in hand, approach the grave to reset the puzzle and enter the next code. These codes can be entered at any time, but use the order listed below.

The current step in the quest that’s bothering players revolves around what happens when players reveal the above Emblem code after entering the 19 correct passwords. Enter the Emblem code, and you’ll see a code like this one in the center of the tomb. The code may feature a symbol or it may not. Sleuths have discovered that this code is unique to nearly all Destiny 2 players. Come back one hour later, and you’ll see different symbols. So, just about every Destiny 2 character has two mostly unique symbols to their name. These symbols have also been found to change upon the Daily Reset.

As of now, the community is focused on not only compiling all of players’ codes, but they’re intensely focused on finding matches in that data. Those matches, it’s believed, will be used to create a map that can navigate through the final door code. To assist in that effort yourself, see the Timeslot Reveal Puzzle data thread.

What to Expect from Corridors of Time Part 2

With the Corridors of Time quest seemingly incomplete, many Guardians have since been left wondering what to expect from future steps. Unfortunately, there isn’t much to go on. Most theories suggest that Corridors of Time may be linked to a larger Exotic quest coming to the game in the near future. Looking at the Season of Dawn roadmap, for example, one sees that the Bastion Exotic Fusion Rifle is set to arrive January 28. As such, these quest steps may be a way to introduce that plotline.

One thing that apparently has been confirmed, though, via Forbes writer Paul Tassi is that the solution to the puzzle is allegedly not time-gated in any way. In other words, while the Corridors of Time may still technically relate to something in the future, it can be finished right now.

Bungie also told Guardians Wednesday afternoon that “the solution is a marathon, not a sprint.” This implies that, while Corridors of time can be solved, it may require lots of player data to do so.

There’s also the sword-like item in the center of the quest room that looks almost like an updated version of the Dark-Drinker Exotic fromTaken King. And there’s the curious case of No Time to Explain as well, the Destiny 1 Exotic Pulse Rifle that’s been teased on Destiny 2’s official website since Shadowkeep’s reveal. Is it finally time to lift the curtain on one of these known hidden Exotics, or is there something much bigger in play? There is, of course, the slightly more boring explanation that Corridors of Time is just a lore puzzle, and we’ve already reaped the extent of its rewards. Fans will likely learn more about the quest by the Weekly Reset on January 21.
