Once you’ve located Xur, here’s a look at every piece of gear and consumable in his latest inventory.
Coldheart [Energy Trace Rifle - 29 Legendary Shards]: Even though it’s a bit harder to find Coldheart ammo in PvP than it used to be, this is still a strong multi-purpose Exotic. Its Cold Fusion laser manages to shred in Gambit or PvE if you can get a shot off, which makes it a very worthy gun. Recent amo buffs make it stronger too. Trace Rifles have a weird place in the meta right now, but this is still a solid one. Aeon Swift [Hunter Gauntlets - 23 Legendary Shards]: For Hunters, the Aeon Swift’s Aeon Energy offers buff energy to nearby opponents. This isn’t the most popular Exotic in the meta, but it serves its purpose in support roles. Shotgun Loader - Impact Induction - Momentum TransferGrenade Launcher Scavenger - Rocket Launcher ScavengerEternal Warrior [Titan Helmet - 23 Legendary Shards]: With the Resolute perk, Titans get an overshield when using Fists of Havoc. This may be a new feature in Xur’s lineup, but that doesn’t necessarily make it a good one. After all, Fists of Havoc is so powerful on its own that the idea of having an overshield to compliment it seems pointless. Unless you want a helmet that feels like it does nothing, steer clear of this one. Auto Rifle Targeting - Power Weapon Targeting - Enhanced Bow TargetingFusion Rifle Reserves - Machine Gun ReservesStarfire Protocol [Warlock Chest Armor - 23 Legendary Shards]: Starfire Protocol features Fusion Harness, which gives Fusion Grenades additional charge and recharge from empowered weapon damage. Kills with Fusion Grenades also grant Rift Energy. If you’re a support player in the Attunement of Grace subclass, this armor works well. Paired with Empowering Rift, it offers an opportunity for endless heals. Unflinching Hand Cannon Aim - Unflinching Sidearm Aim - Unflinching Machine GunPulse Rifle Reserves - Sidearm ReservesFive of Swords [Challenge Card]: This is a Nightfall Challenge Card that can raise or lower the Power handicap to fit your needs. Raising the handicap increases your score multiplier. The World [Invitation of the Nine - Nine Legendary Shards]Complete the Lake of Shadows Strike. Collect Nine Fallen Samples. Collect Nine Cabal Samples. Collect Nine Taken Samples.
For the most part the Xur inventory for July 19 is pretty bland. Getting Enhanced Bow Targeting on Eternal Warrior isn’t all that bad, but the Helmet itself could still stand to be more useful than it is. Aeon Swift is also a nice additive for support-focused players, but not everyone plays in a way that makes those gloves worthwhile. Unless you’ve really been hoping for one of these items in specific, this is a solid week to invest in a Fated Engram and hope for something better.
