Once you’ve found Xur, here’s a quick recap of the gear he’s carrying.
Wardcliff Coil [Exotic Rocket Launcher - 29 Legendary Shards]: It includes two perks called Mad Scientist and Mechanized Autolader. Fire a huge barrage of rockets and reload your gun every time you step over an applicable magazine. The Wardcliff is difficult to control but great for racking up numerous kills in a short amount of time. Especially for those who can’t yet complete the Deathbringer quest, this is a worthy alternative. ACD/0 Feedback Fence [Titan Gauntlets - 23 Legendary Shards]: Given its Fury Conductors perk, melee kills build energy, and being struck by melee reduces damage and unleashes an explosion. Like most melee-based Exotics, these gloves are more or less useless in Crucible. The effect builds in stacks of three, and even at its worst, it’s not as powerful as you’d think. We’d suggest passing on this one. Nezarec’s Sin [Warlock Helmet- 23 Legendary Shards]: With the Abysmal Extractors perk, Void damage increases ability energy recharge rate. This might be a smart Exotic for those trying out the Void Warlock subclass. The Sixth Coyote [Hunter Chest Armor - 23 Legendary Shards]: With its Double Dodge perk, Guardians get a second Dodge Charge. It’s not the flashiest advantage in the world, but it does help when considering the benefits of the Marksman Dodge or Gambler’s Dodge. Not only will this perk make you harder to hit on console, but it can also recharge your melee or refill your ammo clip too. This is another situation where there are probably better options, but top-tier players can squeeze a lot out of it. Five of Swords: This is a Nightfall Challenge Card that can raise or lower the Power handicap to fit your needs. Raising the handicap increases your score multiplier. The World [Invitation of the Nine - Nine Legendary Shards]Complete the Lake of Shadows Strike. Collect Nine Fallen Samples. Collect Nine Cabal Samples. Collect Nine Taken Samples.
As far as Xur inventories are concerned, the vendor’s first appearance in Shadowkeep isn’t exactly an exciting one. All of these items have been on offer before, and the Nezarec’s Sin in particular was sold as recently as last week. You’ll notice that we no longer list the possible perk rolls for each item because armor upgrades work differently with the introduction of Armor 2.0. If we had to pick, we’d advise going for the Wardcliff Coil if you don’t already have one. It will be hugely helpful in clearing out large clusters of adds in Shadowkeep quests. If you do have one, try your luck at the expanded Fated Engram pool. It’s possible you’ll get something better. Bungie probably wanted to play it safe with Xur this week given recent server problems, but we hope to see more from him as Season of the Undying continues.
