Once you’ve located Xur, you can take a look at his latest Exotic inventory. Here’s a quick review of the gear.
Vigilance Wing [Primary Pulse Rifle - 29 Legendary Shards]: This Pulse Rifle is best defined by its Harsh Truth perk, which includes a five-round burst. When a nearby ally is killed, you gain health regeneration and movement speed. This makes the gun especially helpful in Crucible. Updated recoil stats make Vigilance Wing slightly less potent since Forsaken, but it still shreds in PvP. Lucky Pants [Hunter Leg Armor - 23 Legendary Shards]: With the Illegally Modified Holster perk, precision hits load a single round to the chamber of a stowed Hand Cannon. Hand Cannons also load faster and are more accurate once you swap to them. fI you like using Ace of Spades or Last Word, you can’t go wrong with these. That being said, if you don’t use Hand Cannons, they’re pretty much useless. Perpetuation - Traction - Oversize Weapon DexterityHand Cannon Scavenger - Submachine Gun ScavengerNezarec’s Sin [Warlock Helmet- 23 Legendary Shards]: With the Abysmal Extractors perk, Void damage increases ability energy recharge rate. This might be a smart Exotic for those trying out the Void Warlock subclass. Submachine Gun Targeting - Energy Weapon Targeting - Precision Weapon TargetingRocket Launcher Reserves - Sniper Rifle ReservesHelm of Saint-14 [Titan Helmet - 23 Legendary Shards]: This is a rare Exotic for Xur’s repertoire. The Starless Night perk blinds enemies who enter Ward of Dawn and shields allies who pass through it. Guarding with the Sentinel Shield also blinds nearby enemies. Overall, this headpiece is decent for a bit of a troll, but it’s not a serious contender. Unless you’re a hardcore Sentinel Titan, the uses for this one are limited. Heavy Lifting - Hands-On - Kinetic Weapon TargetingRocket Launcher Reserves - Shotgun ReservesFive of Swords: This is a Nightfall Challenge Card that can raise or lower the Power handicap to fit your needs. Raising the handicap increases your score multiplier. The World [Invitation of the Nine - Nine Legendary Shards]Complete the Lake of Shadows Strike. Collect Nine Fallen Samples. Collect Nine Cabal Samples. Collect Nine Taken Samples.
As far as Xur inventory go, this one is pretty strong. Not only are items like the Helm of Saint-14, Nezarec’s Sin and Lucky pants rarely on sale, but all three rolls for their gear are pretty strong as well. Traction Lucky Pants are a big win in particular, as is pretty much everything on offer for Helm of Saint-14. Gear rolls stand to matter a bit less with the release of Shadowkeep next week, but at least the current set looks good. For those who are disappointed, it’s worth noting that Year 2 Exotics make their way into Fated Engrams next week. The Exotic pool just got a whole lot deeper, and this week’s inventory is just icing on the cake.
