The Nigerian forward who played 74 minutes of the encounter before his replacement by Jamie Hopcutt, took to the social media to play down their defeat in Spain.

“Disappointing result but so proud of the team effort! But still, on top of the table . Thanks to all of you for the amazing support so much love. We go again heja Öfk,” he posted on his Instagram page on Friday.

 

The defeat is Graham Potter’s men first in four Europa League group stage games but still remain on the top of group J table with seven points.

Gero has now featured in nine Europe League games this season for his Swedish outfit, scoring two goals and is hoping to better outing against Ukraine’s Zorya on November 23.
