The Ring doorbell footage was originally captured by Kevin David of New Milford, Connecticut, reported WFLA. However, it was re-posted to Reddit’s “Interesting As F**k” forum on Thursday by Redditor u/Reverb001.

So far, it has amassed more than 46,000 upvotes and over 1,400 comments from Redditors who, despite being entertained by the video, weren’t very shocked to see two pigs successfully defending their territory.

The video opens with the bear jumping into the pen of Hammy and Mary, reported WFLA. But as soon as the bear makes contact with the ground, Hammy charges at the bear and pins it against a wall. The bear manages to escape Hammy’s clutches; however, it is promptly backed into a corner by Mary.

Hammy and Mary stare down the bear from a distance. Meanwhile, the bear looks nervously around, scouting an escape. Eventually, the bear jogs to the front of the gate and quickly jumps over it as Mary chases behind.

Speaking to WFLA about Hammy and Mary, David said,“They’re fine…They’re some heavy pigs and we’re pretty sure that bear is still a cub.”

According to LiveScience, pigs tend to rely on their speed if attacked. If “cornered,” however, they will fight with their “razor-sharp” tusks, which can grow to be about three inches long.

Newsweek previously reported that wild boars, specifically, tend to only attack another animal or humans if they feel “cornered” and “threatened.” A typical attack consists of a boar “charging and delivering a serious injury to a person’s legs or feet before running away,” and only lasts a few seconds.

As previously mentioned, u/Reverb001’s commenters loved the video and couldn’t stop cracking jokes about the fight.

“They call me MR.PIG!!!!!” commented u/rpguy04 in reference to Disney’s The Lion King.

“You know that bear went, ‘wee! wee! wee!’ all the way home,” joked u/CaptMeatPockets.

“You want some bacon, b***h? DO YOU WANT SOME BACON?!?!?” wrote u/egordoniv.

Of course, some already seemed to be aware that pigs know how to fight.

“Pigs are hardcore, man,” said u/_The-Batman.

“Pigs don’t f**k around,” wrote u/jimitrucks72.

Redditor u/PixelBoom added: “Pigs, especially big ones, aren’t to be messed with lightly. The bear in the post found that out the hard way.”

The pigs-versus-bear fight wasn’t the first funny animal moment to be captured by a Ring doorbell. In 2020, a bear cub was caught attempting to catch falling snowflakes in someone’s driveway. The video was recently reposted in Reddit’s “Awww” forum, where it has received more than 81,000 upvotes.

And in December, a mother bear and its cub were filmed pawing at the door handle of a home in Sanford, Florida.
