The drag queen, from Brighton, England, made it all the way to the semifinals of the WOW Presents Plus show but just missed out on a place in the grand finale when she was eliminated during the November 17 episode.

During the latest RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, the remaining five queens’ comedy skills were put to the test in a Comedy Roast challenge.

As well as judges RuPaul Charles and Michelle Visage, and regular guest Alan Carr, the queens were watched by Years & Years singer and It’s a Sin actor Olly Alexander as they attempted to take down their competitors—and the eliminated queens—in the politically themed roast.

Pixie started off confident in the challenge but says that she “would never” have called herself a comedy queen.

“I know I can be funny off the cuff but stand-up is not something I’ve ever done or professed to be good at,” Pixie told Newsweek. “I was feeling pretty confident after the reading challenge but to be honest I kind of gassed myself up thinking, ‘Yes, I can do this,’ because the other girls were so sure I could do it!”

“I think it gave me a bit of a sense of confidence which unfortunately didn’t materialise into an actual good performance. I had some good jokes! But unfortunately, I maybe didn’t deliver them particularly well,” Pixie added.

Following the roast, it was time for the punk-themed runway, after which it was revealed that Pixie and Black Peppa were in the bottom two. The pair battled it out by lip-syncing to “Another One Bites the Dust” by Queen.

Opening up about how she felt while performing against her co-star, who has become this season’s “Lip-Sync Assassin,” Pixie said: “I knew I’d be up against it.”

“I knew I was in a gown and I knew I was in 6-inch shoes so I knew it was going to be a struggle going into that,” Pixie added. “I just wanted to give the best performance that I could in the moment and if I was going to go out, I was going to go out with a fight, and I was going to go out trying to do my best to entertain.”

Ultimately, Pixie was sent home, but the star revealed that there is one critique that was given to her during her time on the show that was particularly “validating” for her, even though it was never aired.

The cherished comment came from Ted Lasso and Hocus Pocus 2 star Hannah Waddingham, who was a guest judge during the “Rusical” episode earlier in the season.

“She’s a very seasoned theater professional and I’ve always loved musical theater and I’ve always loved singing so there was some comments from her that episode that I really, really loved,” Pixie said.

“One of the critiques from her that actually didn’t air was, I can’t remember exactly, but she said I was a true professional, like it was in my bones. It was very validating coming from someone like her,” she added.

At the start of the season 12 drag queens sashayed into the werkroom but following the exits of Baby, Copper Topp, Dakota Schiffer, Just May, Le Fil, Sminty Drop and Starlet, as well as Pixie, there are now only four left.

Black Peppa, Cheddar Gorgeous, Danny Beard and Jonbers Blonde will battle it out to be crowned the U.K.’s “Next Drag Superstar” during next week’s final.

Drag Race UK airs on the BBC in its home country which is funded by public money from the license fee, so there is no cash prize for queens across the pond.

Instead, the winner is gifted the chance to fly to Hollywood and star in their own mini-series with the producers of Drag Race.

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK airs every Thursday at 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT in the U.S. and in select territories exclusively on WOW Presents Plus, on the same day as its local airing on BBC3 in the U.K.
