An eight-page preview of Chapter 65 of the Dragon Ball Super manga was posted on the official Japanese Dragon Ball site, and it shows the next part of the fight between Goku and the villainous Moro.
The preview, which is completely in Japanese, features Goku in his Ultra Instinct form holding a clear advantage over Moro. Goku suddenly appears next to his best friend, Krillin, and asks for a bag that holds Senzu Beans, a special bean that restores energy to anyone who eats it.
Goku grabs a Senzu Bean and gives one to Moro to restore his energy. It’s unclear why Goku is doing this, as the text is in Japanese, but Dragon Ball Hype, a fan-account that covers all things Dragon Ball, posted a summary of what is said and what happened in the preview pages.
Note that this isn’t an official summary and the folks behind the account are doing their own translation of the text.
The fact that Goku gives Moro, a villain who has killed millions of people across the universe, a Senzu Bean has caused many Dragon Ball fans to react strongly to the events of the upcoming chapter.
“Goku” began trending on Twitter early Tuesday morning with the release of the preview. Fans began bringing up Goku’s past and how this isn’t the first time this has happened.
“I’m just glad people are finally starting to realize just how stupid Goku really is this is THE 5TH time he has endangered everyone like come on,” one user wrote.
“Me when Goku risks everyone’s lives for the hundredth f—– time because he was trying to prove something,” wrote another.
As many fans have pointed out, Goku has a penchant to give bad guys a second chance. He did it with his brother Raditz in the first arc of Dragon Ball Z when he let go of the Saiyan’s tail; he did it with Vegeta when he stopped Krillin from killing him. He did it with Frieza when Planet Namek was about to explode and gave the tyrant enough energy to try and get off planet.
Not to mention the time he gave Cell a Senzu Bean to make sure the villain had a fair fight with Gohan. There have been plenty of times when Goku has tried to have the villain change their ways, and it seems like he’s about to go down the same route with Moro.
Now, it did work with Vegeta, as the Saiyan became one of Earth’s greatest protectors; and it also worked out, to a lesser extent, with Frieza, who helped Goku defeat Jigen to save Universe 7 in the Tournament of Power.
How this fight will end is anyone’s guess, but fans will have to wait until at least October 21, when Chapter 65 is released, to see how it all plays out.
