Bandai Namco has shown bits and pieces of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot at various events, and they just released a new trailer for Gamescom 2019. This new Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot gameplay trailer focuses more of Kakarot’s son, Gohan, as the two Saiyans train and fight together against the forces of evil.

Oh, and this latest trailer confirms players will relive the Cell Saga too.

Watch the latest Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot trailer below.

Aside from the intense action sequences and fights, this is the first gameplay trailer that shows more of the “downtime” parts of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. The trailer shows Goku carrying Gohan through a forest before his fight against Raditz. It features the pair flying on Nimbus alongside dinosaurs.

There’s also a “meal time” where you and Gohan can eat plates of food to increase your stats.

Here’s an excerpt from the press release tied to the trailer: “Experience the story of DRAGON BALL Z from epic events to light-hearted side quests, including never-before-seen story moments that answer some burning questions of DRAGON BALL lore for the first time!”

For fans of the series, there’s plenty of action to behold. This latest trailer shows Gohan turning the tide of battle against Raditz, the moment he was able to reflect the Spirit Bomb while fighting Vegeta and the moment he sees his father turning Super Saiyan for the first time.

Gohan really shines during the Cell Saga specifically, where he surpasses his father and becomes a Super Saiyan 2. Given the content of this Gamescom trailer, many fans wonder if moments from the Buu Saga might be featured next.

In July, it was revealed that Goku won’t be the only playable character in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. Vegeta, Piccolo and Gohan will have a dual role in the game as playable and support characters. Vegeta and Piccolo will be playable when players get to Planet Namek during the Frieza Saga, while Gohan will have a unique story when he trains with Piccolo before the arrival and Nappa and Vegeta.

As we see from the Gamescom trailer, Gohan will be playable during the fight with Cell and during his training with Goku.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot releases in early 2020 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
