Following a group of privileged high schoolers in Madrid, Elite tackles themes of drug abuse, scandal, class divides and more.
Since making its debut in 2018, the Spanish language series has not only dominated Netflix’s Top 10, it has amassed a huge fan base worldwide.
Taking to Twitter on Thursday, October 28, the streamer announced: “Big news: Elite has been renewed for Season 6!”
But when will it likely be released and what can fans expect from the new episodes?
Here’s what we know so far about Elite Season 6…
When is Elite Season 6 coming to Netflix?
Although Season 6 has been given the go ahead, Netflix has yet to announce the official release date for the new episodes.
That said, in addition to the main show, Netflix revealed that it will be releasing three “Short Stories.” They will be available to stream as follows:
“Phillipe, Caye, & Felipe” — Wednesday, December 15"Samuel & Omar" — Monday, December 20"Patrick" — Thursday, December 23
Of course, fans are still waiting for Season 5 to drop on the streamer, with Season 4 airing in June.
However, production is well underway, so it is likely Season 5 will become available in 2022.
Who’s in the cast?
In February, it was revealed that Valentina Zenere and André Lamoglia will be portraying newcomers Sofía and Gonzalo, respectively, in Season 5.
Returning cast members include:

What will happen in Elite Season 5?
In Season 4, Armando’s lifeless body was concealed at the bottom of the lake after Guzmán killed him, so it is likely that Season 5 will follow on from this. Perhaps the teenagers will be questioned by police if the corpse is discovered?
While details about the new characters have been scarce, we can probably bet our money on some fresh drama to stir things up, as is usually the case in Elite.
Elsewhere, it looks as though Ari and Samuel could finally have a crack at a relationship, now Guzmán isn’t around to stop them.
