For viewers who cannot wait that long, however, to see the latest adventures of the spin-off’s cast, AMC offers two ways for FWTD fans to get early access for episodes of Season 6—AMC+ and AMC Premiere.
In previous years, AMC Premiere has allowed viewers to watch Fear the Walking Dead episodes 48 hours before they aired on AMC proper. This year, however, it seems as if the early access window will be shorter, with AMC+ and Premiere releasing Season 6 on Sunday mornings rather than Friday nights.
For those wondering what the difference is between AMC+ and Premiere, AMC+ is a bundle that offers access to not only the AMC catalog but to that of horror streamer Shudder, Sundance Now and IFC Films Unlimited. Premiere, meanwhile, offers what its website calls “in-season episodes of current AMC shows ad-free [and] curated shows from our sister networks: BBC America, IFC, Sundance TV, and Sundance Now.”
Episodes of fellow The Walking Dead spin-off World Beyond are available earlier than their FTWD counterparts. Episodes of the new show are available on Thursdays, three days before they air on AMC.
For fans wondering what to expect from Season 6 of FTWD, the synopsis reads, “Season 6 of Fear the Walking Dead explores what has become of the unlikely family once united by a mission to help those in need. After being torn apart by Virginia (Colby Minifie) and her Pioneers, the group is now dispersed across her far-reaching settlements. Morgan’s (James) last message at the end of Season 5 implored the group to ‘Live’ and this season we’ll see what that means to each of them.
“Some will find the stability and opportunity within Virginia’s communities to be intriguing, some will sink into darkness, while others will fight back against what has been forced upon them. Life behind Virginia’s walls will test each and every one of them in different ways, forcing them to define who they are in this new world.”
Fear the Walking Dead Season 6 airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET / 8 p.m. CT.
