Fortnite Car Locations - Where do cars spawn?

The primary place to find cars in Fortnite is at Gas Stations. There are around a dozen of these spread across the map. Here are some POIs that feature Gas Stations right now. Once you enter a car, all Gas Station locations will be highlighted as white squares on your map.

That being said, just because you visit these locations, that doesn’t mean cars will be here all the time. At the current time it looks like vehicles have a 35 percent spawn rate. So, just keep trying if you don’t see one.

What types of cars are there?

There are currently four different types of cars in Fortnite. Here’s what we know about them based on leaks highlighted by postboxpat on YouTube.

How to Gas Up Cars

In these stats you can see one important drawback of Fortnite’s Cars, and that’s that they take damage and lose fuel over time. So, if you want to keep driving around the Battle Royale map, you’ll need to refuel your car intermittently via two different means. This is especially true since most car spawns only start with at most half a tank of gas anyway.

The main way to gas up a car is to do so at one of the many Gas Stations scattered across the map. All you’ve got to do is drive to a location, approach the pump and press the corresponding button to “grab pump.” Drag the pump to any part of the car, press shoot and its fuel percentage will fill up.

The second method for gassing up a vehicle is to use the red Gas Cans often found on the floor in buildings and areas surrounding Gas Stations. Pick one of these up, equip it and approach your vehicle to stop your car’s fuel leaks dead in its tracks. It’s a bit annoying to have to monitor fuel all the time when using cars in Fortnite, but that’s how the feature works.

Some other cool car facts

You can do brake and tire skids with cars. Using lots of boost in your car will drain its gas quickly. If you’re hit hard enough, you can be ejected from the vehicle to take damage. If cars hit walking players, they Impulse. They don’t take damage. Cars can explode with AoE damage that impacts builds and other players.

That’s all we know about cars in Fornite for now. We’ll be updating this guide as we discover more about them.

Fortnite is available now on PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC and mobile.
