In order to find the Crashed Plane’s Black Box, you must first locate the Crashed Plane on the Season 5 map. That can be found on the island situated in the southeast corner of Coral Castle, as shown on the map below.

As you overlook the proper interior of Coral Castle, you’ll come across a crashed plane. There’s only one of these on the map. Among the wreckage, you’ll see a bunch of items scattered on the grass. The Black Box is located just ahead of this luggage box. It’s on the ground next to the large bush. You won’t see it in these screenshots because we’re making this guide ahead of time, but it should be here when you land.

The Black Box itself should look like a black object with old-school audio reels attached to it. All you’ve got to do is approach the Black Box and interact with it to get a sweet 20,000 XP reward for your Season 5 Battle Pass.

Fortnite Week 9 Challenges

Finding the Crashed Plane’s Black Box is just one of eight new challenges going live in Fortnite on Thursday. The new Week 9 quests are clearly themed around approaching some of the more mysterious aspects of the Season 5 map. With Week 10 on the horizon, we’re eager to see what kind of unknown events might involve some of the suspicious spots we’ve been asked to visit today. Who arrived on the plane?
