Before starting the process, you may need to check in with Aquaman at the Style Challenges screen on the main menu with your weekly challenge table. This extra step ensures everything is all ready to go before you embark on your Loot Shark quest.
How to ride a Loot Shark at Sweaty Sands
The first part of this Aquaman Challenge requires landing at Sweaty Sands. For those who still don’t have their full map uncovered, that’s the northernmost island in the grouping of three islands on the western edge of the map. It’s just north of Holly Hedges.
Once you land there, the next step is to grab a Fishing Pole from the barrels on the docks that look like this. There should be plenty of these barrels found close to the water’s edge, but Fishing Poles can also be acquired as floor loot too.
Fishing Pole in hand, the hardest part of this challenge is actually finding a Loot Shark. Loot Sharks are random spawns as is, which makes it all the more difficult when you need them to spawn at a specific named location. It’s quite possible you just won’t find a Loot Shark in your first or second match, in which case you may need to reload into another lobby and try again. For reference, we had the best luck finding Loot Sharks in more standard queues like Solos, Duos and Squads. While most prefer Team Rumble for challenge completion, that wasn’t as helpful for us in this case.
Wait long enough, though, and eventually you may hear the music change to a Jaws-like theme as you stand near the coast. This means there’s a Loot Shark in range and that it’s time to start fishing. Draw your Fishing Rod with the trigger and do your best to point it closely to the shark’s fin or close to its mouth. Your cast doesn’t need to be super precise. Just aim it, and the beast will likely grab on.
Water ski behind the Loot Shark for a few seconds, and the second Aquaman Challenge is officially done.
