Occurring on three separate nights, theaters nationwide would show a set of programming comprised of four episodes from the show. A Fathom Event, the run time for each evening was an hour and 40 minutes.

On Friday, tickets were released for all three nights, September 23, September 28 and October 2. They ranged in price based on the theater and location, but generally ran the cost of a normal movie ticket.

To purchase tickets, fans had to go to the designated Fathom Events page, which could be found here. From there, they were required to type in their zip code, which showed a list of theaters where the episodes would be playing. At the top of the search bar were three tabs, each with a date listed, to correspond with the three nights of events.

Once the proper date was selected and the zip code was inputted, fans could click the orange box with the showtime, located to the right of the theater name, to be taken to the theater’s website. From that new webpage, customers could select the number of tickets they wanted and select their seats. Fans were asked to not leave an empty seat on either side of them, as this can leave the theater with multiple single empty seats, none that are next to each other, thereby preventing some people from being able to sit with their friends or family.

“This is a show about love and sex and careers and a time in life when everything is possible … about the search for commitment and security … and the fear of commitment and security. Most of all, it’s about friendship–for when you’re young and single in the city, your friends are your family,” Fathom described the event.

Surely, some superfans would attend all three nights, however, others may choose to instead go to the theater the night that their favorite episodes would be shown. The lineup, according to Fathom, was:

September 23: Pilot –ReDo, The One With The Black Out, The One With The Birth, The One Where Ross Finds OutSeptember 28: The One The Prom Video, The One Where No One’s Ready, The One With The Morning After, The One With The EmbryosOctober 2: The One With Chandler In A Box, The One With Ross’s Wedding – Part 2, The One Where Everyone Finds Out, The One Where Ross Got High

Friends, a show about six, well, friends, navigating life in New York City in their 20s and 30s. Taking place over a 10-year span, it debuted on September 22, 1994, and stayed on air until May 2004. Fifteen years after the final episode aired, it remains a favorite television show of many.
