What’s the Best Armor?

Ghost of Tsushima is a game about tailoring Jin to your playstyle, which means not all armor pieces work well for everybody. That being said, it makes sense to personally take a look at the above-listed advantages and see how they compliment your strengths. That being said, we do have a few favorites that might give you a general idea of how to diversify your build.

Best early and mid-game armor: For the early hours, we had lots of luck with the Samurai Clan Armor, especially after upgrading it. As you start to get your feet wet in this game, you’re going to take lots of damage trying to understand the combat system. This armor balances out that punishment until you can explore sets that are a little more nuanced. It’s also impossible to miss, so that helps. Best late-game armor: Once you get into the combat rhythm, the Ghost Armor becomes a lot more formidable. Its advantages allow you to slink around in the darkness while also having the offensive advantage of terrifying those you encounter. It doesn’t have a defensive buff, but you shouldn’t need that as much once you get the hang of things. Best post-game armor: As you near the end of the story and mop up side missions in the post-game, the Mongol Commander Armor really makes you feel like a god. You remain unseen by roving packs of enemies, which makes you truly one with the open world. Couple that disguise with the damage reduction and health increases, and this is about as close to OP as armor gets in Tsushima. If only it weren’t so challenging to acquire. . .

That’s all we know about the basics of armor in Ghost of Tsushima.

Ghost of Tsushima is available now on PS4.
