MORE: Russillo apologizes for arrest
PREVIOUS: ESPN TV/radio personality Ryen Russillo has been arrested on a criminal entry charge in Jackson, Wyo., Sporting News has learned.
Jackson Police Chief Todd Smith confirmed to Sporting News that Russillo was arrested about 3:45 a.m. MT Wednesday on a criminal entry charge. He now has to post bond and get a court date.
If Russillo doesn’t post bond, he’ll face a judge within 48 hours, Smith said.
The charge of criminal entry is a misdemeanor under Wyoming law, according to Smith. It’s punishable by up to six months in prison, a $750 fine, or both.
Russillo’s arrest could be more more innocent than it sounds. Persons charged with criminal entry may mistakenly believe they have authority to enter a property, said Smith, and do so without any criminal intent.
An employee at the Teton County Sheriff’s Office also confirmed Wednesday that it was housing the 42-year-old Russillo for the Jackson Police Department.

Russillo joined ESPN Radio in 2006.
An ESPN spokeswoman told Sporting News the Disney-owned company was “looking” into the report.
