The animated movie was due to be released in theaters last year, but was delayed by the pandemic. It has since switched to an exclusive streaming release. Many of the big-name voice actors are returning, but a couple of familiar names won’t be back.

Hotel Transylvania: Transformania is sure to be a family favorite, so here’s everything you need to know about the movie ahead of its release.

How and When to Watch ‘Hotel Transylvania: Transformania’

Which Cast Members Aren’t Returning?

The voice cast remained pretty consistent through the first three Hotel Transylvania movies, but there have been some big-name exits for the fourth installment.

Adam Sandler played Count “Drac” Dracula in Hotel Transylvania, Hotel Transylvania 2 and Hotel Transylvania: Summer Vacation, but he won’t be returning for Transformania. Instead, YouTube impressionist Brian Hull will play Drac, as he did in the 2021 Hotel Transylvania short Monster Pets.

Sandler’s friend Kevin James hasn’t returned for the fourth movie either. James voiced Frankenstein in the first three films. This time, actor and voiceover artist Brad Abrell will take that role.

Although these two franchise mainstays have left, plenty of other familiar names are back. Andy Samberg, Selena Gomez, Kathryn Hahn, Steve Buscemi, Molly Shannon, Fran Drescher and Keegan-Michael Key are all voicing their respective monsters. Jim Gaffigan also returns as Professor Abraham Van Helsing while Twitch streamer Ninja—real name Tyler Blevins—joins the cast as Party Monster.

What Happens in ‘Hotel Transylvania: Transformania’

The monsters gain a bit more humanity in the fourth Hotel Transylvania movie, when Professor Van Helsing’s mysterious invention goes haywire and transforms them all into humans—while Johnny becomes a monster.

Without their powers, the Drac Pack travel across the globe to find a cure before their transformations become permanent.
