Here’s a summary breakdown of the most important changes that have blossomed out of the League of Legends Preseason:

League of Legends Preseason Changes

Elemental Rifts- The four elemental dragons have been powerlifting and now impact the Rift when summoned. When the second Elemental Drake dies, the Rift transforms depending on the element of the third dragon. Every dragon after the third will be the same as the Rift Infernal burns away certain walls, Mountain adds more walls, Ocean adds extra brushes and honey fruit and Cloud adds wind tunnels that speed you up. Elemental Drakes- If your team kills four dragons in one game, they get a brand new buff that matches whatever Element the Rift is. Infernal deals AoE damage, Mountain grants an out of combat shield, Ocean helps you after you deal damage and Cloud gives you even more movement speed. Elder Dragon- The King dragon of them all now grants a 3-minute buff when slaughtered that deals true damage and executes enemies under 20 percent health. The bad boy also shows up six minutes after one team kills their fourth dragon. New Entrances and Bushes- Throughout the map, new flora and areas have popped up. There are bushes near the entrances to blue buff and small alcoves have been added to both bottom and top lane. This adds even more opportunity for Blitzcrank to hook you or Mordekaiser to slam down his mace. Lethality- Lethality has always been a tricky concept for Riot to balance and they are trying their hands at it again this offseason. Edge of Night grants a shield, making it feel slightly more useful on assassins. Sanguine Blade and Umbral Glaive have also been added to the game, gaining lethality or destroying wards. Support Items- Supports now have quests that they need to complete in order for their items to upgrade. Spellthief’s grants 15 gold per hit (gaining charges every 10 seconds), Relic Shield executes minions below 50 percent health (recharge every 45 seconds and Ancient Coin line has been removed. There are two new support items that help out AD champions like Pyke. Steel Shoulderguards is similar to Relic Shield and Spectral Sickle works like Spellthief’s, both granting AD as they become more powerful. Shield and Shoulderguards do work with ranged attacks, but the minions need to be below 30 percent health.
